Academic Intervention Services (AIS) refer to specialized support provided to students in reading and/or math to help them meet grade-level expectations. These services include individualized, differentiated instruction tailored to each student’s specific needs, ensuring that they receive the necessary guidance to succeed. AIS often involves small group instruction, where students can benefit from more focused attention and personalized teaching. The services use multiple approaches to learning, strengthening students' skills and strategies in various ways to address different learning styles. Additionally, ongoing assessments of student progress are conducted to track their achievement, ensuring that the instruction remains aligned with the New York State Next Generation Standards.
